The Valero Energy Foundation raises money annually during their Texas Open Benefit for Children Golf Classic.  The monies raised are for children’s charities in the communities where Valero has major operations. 

The beneficiaries are nominated by Valero employees, and an all-employee committee evaluates the charities and makes the final selection by voting on which agencies they believe will provide the most benefits to disadvantaged children.

RSTTA’s advocate, Bob Wheatley - a member of the church, was very persuasive and a check was issued to RSTTA in the amount of $5,000 to be used for programming.
