JEFFREY HARRISON NAMED AS USTA SECTION DELEGATES CHAIR
Wilmington resident selected for national leadership position
WILMINGTON, DEL. (January 15, 2013) -- Jeffrey Harrison, managing partner of PRISM Partners, has been selected as Chair of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Section Delegates for the 2013-2014 term.
Harrison, a resident of Wilmington, Del., will lead the national USTA Delegates group throughout the year as they discuss the future of tennis in America. The group will initially be gathering at the USTA Leadership Development Retreat in Kiawah Island, January 16-18. Later this year, Harrison will again lead the group during the USTA Annual Meeting in Florida and at the USTA Semiannual Meeting in New York during the US Open. The USTA Delegates are part of the USTA Executive Committee and consist of 17 representatives from each of their respective USTA Section Associations.
The USTA, which is the largest tennis organization in the world, is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the recognized leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States.
Harrison has a long history of leadership in the tennis industry. He served as President of the USTA Middle States section in 2009 and 2010, and is the former Vice President of League Properties for World TeamTennis. Harrison is currently the Managing Partner of PRISM Partners, a tennis and sport marketing/management company based in Philadelphia. PRISM Partners provides strategic planning and program management assistance to country clubs, tennis facilities, and other sports facilities. And he is a Board Member for the Rodney Street Tennis & Tutoring Association (RSTTA), an organization that provides innovative tennis and educational enrichment programs to over 300 at-risk youth in the City of Wilmington, DE.
Harrison is a former No. 1 singles and doubles player for the University of Delaware. After graduating, he served as the men’s and women’s assistant coach and then competed on the Challenger Tennis professional circuit before turning his tennis passion into business.
Harrison, and his wife Mary live in Wilmington, Del., with their three children.
